Fore more info on the seven contact points, you can take a look at the info on the excellent Photography in Malaysia website:
What a great article.

Thanks

If I'm holding the camera with the bottom facing up and the back of the camera facing me the contact at about 7:30 on a clock is recessed farther. Thanks for checking. That's exactly how mine is, but it looked broken. I think you said the DSU had an intermittant display. I'm guessing that if the ba...

Motor Drive contacts on F3/DCS?

There are seven recessed gold contacts on the bottom of the F3. Six are recessed about 0.5 mm, and the seventh is recessed about 2 mm. Is it supposed to be like that? The pin on the DCS winder has ample travel to make connection, but perhaps the "deep" contact is indicative of a problem wi...

This one has an intermittant display. sometimes when I power it up the display brightens but shows nothing and the menu doesn't work at all. At other times it powers up OK. Which display? The flexible PC routing to the large display is quite tight, and doesn't fit very far into the display connecto...

i want to find one DCS picture the most unprocessed possible Although I have not been able to get my DCS working reliably, I did find several images on the disk (I assume from the previous owner). These are raw 8-bit CFA images. I will send you one or two if you want. The color space seems to be RG...

Yes, it is on the processor card. It's a QTC85. soldered in with three connections. I have one arriving from Amazon next week
Oh well. The Amazon part doesn't fit. It's 1.25" diameter rather than 1" (as required). Back to the drawing board.

nik0web I did a lot of thinking about the SCSI connection. From all my reading the camera is a Mac oriented device so if you try to read the harddrive it's not likely to be a "FAT" file system device. If it's formatted for a MAC when you try to read it with Windows/DOS it'll look like an ...

Stan Disbrow No, I don't see it there, either. I'd expect it to be on the processor card, though, so this is not a surprise. Yes, it is on the processor card. Pete's DCS-100

As some of you may remember, I got a Kodak DCS-100 from ebay about a week ago (with help and advice from folks on this forum). It seems complete, and in very good condition. It works sometimes, but seems, at best, intermittent. The small display always works, but the big display often doesn't, or is...

Webmaster: No, the winder and the digital back are two separate pieces. Well, it arrived today. Fortunately, the back seems to be included, and everything seems to be in good condition. I'm in the middle of a project at the moment, so it might be a day or two before I fire it up. If anybody is inte...

NIKON KIU I think this is the original DCS(1) and NOT the DCS100. or are they the same? Pete I think you need to enlighten us when you receive the rig. Will do. I thought the DCS and the DCS-100 were the same thing. I thought the DCS was re-named in preparation for the DCS-200, but I'm far from bei...

One disturbing thing I just noticed though: As far as I can tell, there's no mentioning of the digital back, and it's not visible in any of the photos.
It mentions the "Kodak DCS Camera winder". Is that not integral with the back?

nik0web: I still don't have a good DSU I don't know if I do yet? What's wrong with yours? I don't know which the Kodak is, or whether it's different. I'd be happy to send you images of my cables, or answer questions. I still have no software and haven't been lucky enough to win a Photoshop 3 on eBa...
