TIME: Celebrating 80 Years of Associated Press’ Wirephoto

Interesting read. And pretty cool with a link to NikonWeb.com from a major news source :)

Ironically, the George H.W. Bush inauguration photo in the article is NOT captured with the QV-1000C.

Re: FINALLY!! I got my E3s up and running.

Does anyone know what software will open the TIFF it makes?? Thanks in advance! :D I've opened the TIFF files in Nikon View and Capture in the past. Perhaps it's an OS problem you're seeing. Try to run the program under Windows XP, if possible, or try to change the compatibility settings for the pr...

Updated the forum software which came with this new look and some new features, apparently.

By the way, 2015 marks the 10th anniversary for this site. How time flies. Happy New Year, everyone!

Re: Minolta RD-3000 ?

I know nothing about this camera, but Minolta's timing was terrible. The camera was announced on Sept 22, 1999, a few months after the revolutionary Nikon D1. Not a big seller, I'm sure.

Re: QV 1000C complete kit

Not a complete kit - the transmitter was missing, but still. Sold for € 7.800, approx 9650 USD (Incl. buyer's premium). The estimated price was € 1500-1800. This is the same camera that was sold at a Swedish auction site a year ago for USD 1600 (10.500 Swedish kronor): http://www.nikonweb.com/forum/...

Re: Kodak DCS NC2000e-m. Is it a real Monochrome or not?

Actually, according to the DCS Story, there are *two* monochrome versions: NC2000m and NC2000ir.

I assume you've already checked the label on the camera itself? :) If you send me one of your files, I'd be happy to take a look.

JPEG Cleaner for Mac - free software

Some digital cameras can simultaneously capture both JPEG + RAW files. This will result in two separate files for each photo you take: one JPEG file and one RAW file. This program will find and delete the unnecessary JPEG files to save disk space. The corresponding RAW files are NOT affected. http:/...

Re: Need software for Sound Vision CMOS-pro digital camera

From the original FAQ: Can I use another Twain Compatible Program other than PhotoShop? While our TWAIN driver is compatible with other image editing programs, we don't recommend it. The reason is that PhotoShop allows you to acquire 16 bit per color images, and to produce Curve Files (.ACV) that ar...

Re: Nikon Df

At first I was a little disappointed. Now, after a while, I don't know what to think. You get a cutting edge sensor and excellent image quality in a cool retro-ish camera that's less expensive than the top of the line D4. Unfortunately, I have a nagging feeling that the Df is too little - or too muc...
