128 MB CF card with DS-565

Brian Sweeney wrote:The E3 worked with a 256MByte "simpletech" Compact Flash card in a generic compactflash adapter!
As mentioned in another thread (E2/E3 memory cards), I've also had success using a 128 MB CF card in a Canon PCMCIA adapter with my DS-565. Great news!

DCS 420: Strange CF card issue

Cheap old 'Twinmos' 128 MB CF-card formatted as FAT (i.e. NOT FAT32) under Windows XP, Canon PCMCIA adapter: My DCS 420 will correctly report xx number of images left, and count down as I press the shutter button. Everything seems to work, but no files are recorded. To make sure it wasn't a camera i...

128 MB CF-card in DS-565

Formatting an old 'Twinmos' 128 MB CF-card as FAT (i.e. NOT FAT32) under Windows XP, I've successfully used it with my DS-565 (using a Canon PCMCIA adapter). This is great news! I'm no longer limited to the small 40 MB card that came with the camera. I've not yet tested this card with the E2N. Howev...

Congratulations! Sounds like a great deal. I almost regret that I didn't get it myself. Still, I'm glad you did!

Looking forward to hear from you again when you've tested it properly.

Hi Kiu,

At least he replied to my serial # question: 7200004 (as expected, yet another xx000xx serial number..)

Kodak DCS 100, DCS 200 Instruction Manuals online

We should all download these before it's too late: DCS 100 User's Manual ftp://ftp.kodak.com/web/service/manuals/dcs/dcsCh1_5.pdf (4.2 MB PDF) ftp://ftp.kodak.com/web/service/manuals/dcs/dcsCh6_9.pdf (7 MB PDF) DCS 200 User's Manual ftp://ftp.kodak.com/web/service/manuals/dcs/dcs200ch1_4.pdf (5.8 MB...

Re: FUJIX VERSION

Check seller history. No feedback from any buyers. I asked the seller for the camera serial number, but haven't received any reply so far. I'd be very careful. Having thought about it, it may not be a good idea to post such eBay listing on this forum after all. If you find a nice, cheap camera it's ...

So, what you're really saying is that the E3s is quite a bit more usable than the original E2. ;) Hi Stan, The E3S is faster (both aperture- and bufferwise) and includes some other improvements over the first E-models, but it's far from perfect. I don't think Nikon would have sold many more cameras...

Digital back

I certainly HOPE that Kodak stays in the business of producing professional cameras. A full-frame digital back for the Nikon F6 would be very nice, and give a 1st-rate full-frame digital choice! Yes, please! (and make one for my old F4 as well, while you're at it). Will be interesting to see the qu...

Nikon N-F adapter

But do you think the E3 will work with my N-F adapter and the 25cm F4? (I worry that it will hang up on the AF contacts like older T-Mount adapters). Hi Brian, I don't know if the N-F adapter will let you mount this old rangefinder lens to your E3 (I know nothing about rangefinder Nikkors). I know ...

Another discontinued Kodak: DCS Pro SLR/n

Not exactly vintage (yet), but I thought I'd mention this anyway: Kodak "has discontinued the manufacture of all versions of the KODAK PROFESSIONAL DCS Pro SLR Digital Cameras. [The SLR/n and SLR/c] will continue to be available from Kodak until stock is depleted." http://www.robgalbraith....

NC2000 vs. 2000e

What is the difference between the NC2000 and NC2000e? Hi Brian, "Kodak was the first company to make available a sensor/circuitry upgrade for a digital SLR, back in the mid-90’s. The camera was the NC2000; upgrading it to an NC2000e reduced the noise at higher ISO settings and doubled the bur...

Digital Nikonos

The Nikonos RS versions are/were very sexy.. I don't believe that they were ever sold through "normal" channels... Here's Kodak's reply on the digital Nikonos models (DCS 425, 435): "I'm sorry but those cameras never existed here at Eastman Kodak. We never made cameras for that speci...
