Jarle Having not yet gotten a DCS 100 to work I'm not much of an expert and have delayed posting a reply to your Windows/SCSI concerns. I did a lot of thinking about the SCSI connection. From all my reading the camera is a Mac oriented device so if you try to read the harddrive it's not likely to b...

Sorry for the delayed response. I don't know if I do yet? What's wrong with yours? The DSU powered up when I received it and when I later connected it to an Apple 180 laptop it hasn't powered up since, even without the laptop connected. What I meant about the cables is that with the same connectors ...

Congratulations Pete! You won. I see the guy mentioned above tried to snipe it. Does anyone have a keyboard to sell to Pete. I have the Commucations manual but not an extra.

Again good luck.

I decided not to bid. Most of these items I don't need. I need the battery and the DSU. They'll come up in the future. Pete I only hope it's you who wins. Good luck and welcome to the world of DCS 100 users.

Thanks for getting back on this. I still don't know what to do. We both want the item. I bought the last item on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7614539873&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEAFB%3AIT&rd=1 and still don't have a good DSU. In addition the cables I have a...

Pete was not the first forum member to bid on this item. Pete has neglected to bid on the most recent auctions for DCS 100 items since this thread started. If I don't bid on an item because of other members interest how do I know whether someone plans on sniping the item in the last seconds. Should ...

What is the etiquette of posting a link to an item for sale when potentially multiple forum members are interested in the item? Anyone interested in this item and not finding this site hasn't done much homework. There's a lot of room for discussion. What happens to the value of items owned or items ...

After I posted my suggestion of trying a piece of paper or cloth arround the sensor it occurred to me that when the mirror goes up and the shutter opens there may be a lot of turbulence. Maybe the cloth/paper needs to be restrained???

Ross, you've got me thinking about the internal reflections. The camera was designed for film and the sensor uses only a small area out of the center. The lens is however still projecting an image even larger than the film size. What happens to all that stray unnecessary light. Do you think it'd be ...

I recently purchased a DSU on eBay, I thought it would fix a missing piece of a partial set. My camera is a DC-3 version of the DCS 100. It was junk! An excellent candidate to take apart. The HDD, switches for the front panel, memory and the CPU were all missing. All the screws were taken out and th...
