Re: Kodak DCS 460
Hi Ashley, congratulations with that camera. As you stated yourself this is a 'modified' Nikon N90/F90. It can take older Nikkor lenses but the best is to use the AF-D lenses; in order to make use of the various programs. A cheap but very nice lens is the Nikkor AF-D 1.8/50 mm. If you would use lens...

Re: All electronic and digital Nikon SLR models to date
Why not add the Kodak (and maybe others) series based on Nikon cameras? Starting with the DCS100 (based on Nikon F3) in January 1992, and followed by DCS200 - October 1992 (Nikon F-801), DCS420 - September 1994 (Nikon F-90), DCS460 - October 1995 (Nikon F-90), DCS410 - October 1996 (F-90X), NC2000E ...

Re: Anybody interested?
Since nobody showed interest I've put them on (German) ebay. The DCS560 is a nice and sturdy camera with a 6 Mp. sensor producing very nice images. Compared to the modern Nikons (D40/50 etc.) this 10 year old design is better.

Kodak DCS 560 for sale (was: Anybody interested?)
Hi friends, I have two Canon - Kodak DCS 560 bodies with some batteries. chargers etc. for sale, as I am a Nikon collector. The camera bodies are in very good shape, fully working, although I cannot give any guarantee for the batteries. I am asking 300 euros for all, excluding postage. Items are in ...

Re: Long term HD storage (backup strategy)
Hi Jarle, disasters are unpredictable, so 100% safety is impossible. But we can come close to that 100%. I used my winter holidays for transferring all my pictures from hundreds of cd-roms to an external 1TB hard disk. If you store this in a metal safe (in your house or bank) it may be safe against ...

Re: Nikon E3s x-rayed (link to NikonWeb article)
Jarle, this gentleman is NHS-member and was present at the 2006 NHS-convention in Vienna. He showed us various x-ray pictures of older Nikon gear. Very interesting. I'll see if I have some pictures from his lecture.

Re: Using the D1
I think you have made a good deal! I like all three D1's. They are sturdy, delivering good images and you can use all lenses ever made, even RF with LTM via an adapter.
Good luck with yours.

Nico

DSC backs on a F801/s or N8008/s
Hi, I think you should remove the little pin/screw on top of the film rails - just under the viewfinder - at the back of your camera. Than the back will work. Let me know if it works.

Gentlemen, behind the ebay-ID you'll find a thrustworthy gentlemen and lady, dealing for some years in mainly Nikon gear. They live at the southern (and remote) tip of Texas. The Kodak cameras are sold because they do not have any equipment (chargers, cards, cables, etc.) to check them. I've done a ...

BTW Kiu, did you noticed that of nearly all items (with just a few exceptions) the estimates (schätzwert) by Westlicht were not reached? Westlicht was a bit too optimistic.

bievres
Hi, Bievres is always a very interesting place to be. Again very interesting items for sale, but no early digital gear. Bievres is a two-day affair (sat-sun) in the middle (park) of a small village/suburb of Paris. Dealers and visitors from many continents (!) are offering a very nice atmosphere and...

D1?
Hi Ross, I am very well in for a discussion on this topic. First: for what do you need a camera. If it's for fun, any film or digital camera will do. If you have to illustrate text a digital like the D1's will do, as all newspapers and weeklies etc. do not print above 300 dpi. There 3 Mp is enough f...

D1?
Ross, I think the D1 is a sturdy camera for those that don't want or are not able to pay thousands of euros for a new camera. I have the three D1's (D1, D1X & D1H) and it is still a pleasure to work with them. If you want decent images up to A4 all D1's are OK. They take nearly all Nikkor lenses...

No. 9
Hi Jarle, yes I have Nikon D1 with #5000009, bought in Rotterdam 2 years ago. I've seen many digital camera's at this site with low numbers, which is a bit odd. Most early camera's were and are in factory possession. The D1 isn't a rare camera, as more than 15,000 were made. The others from the earl...

Nikon D1 No.1 ??
Hi friends, Nikon never sold its very first cameras of whatever line, so I assume the first D1, which came on the market in October 1999 (CeBit 1999 in Hannover, Germany), must rest in the factory. I have a D1 with serial number 9, so might this be the first on the (European) market? Who knows more ...
