What is the difference between the NC2000 and NC2000e?

I know that Kodak came out with a new version of the KAF1600 with extended sensitivity in visible; the KAF1603 (think that is it). Also, I notice that my Kodak id's itself as a 420D. What do these "extensions" mean?

Here is a link to the DS560/565 Product Brochure in PDF.

It was not easy to "google" across.

Download it while you can!

One More, for this thread.

DCS200IR, ~$12,400 The color filter wheel attachment was not cheap, I think >$4K. The 7-pin comnector on the DCS4xx controls the filter-wheel. I think the DCS200 connected through the SCSI port. A group down the hall from me almost bought one, but went with the color model instead. The acquisition t...

I am using a 260mb PCMCIA hard drive formatted as FAT-16 in my DCS420c. I will try it in the E3 as well. There should be a difference in memory address limits and disk size. A Flash-Disk emulates a disk, and does not need to be memory mapped by the camera. Some people in Rob Galbraith's forum report...

Just to add the DCS200IR. It was essentially the monochrome-internal drive model with clear cover glass. The ISO settings stayed the same, but you had to use the +/- switch of the N8008s to compensate for sensitivity in the IR. I get good results with a -1 setting when using it "across the boar...

The Serial Number on the DCS420 looks linear, ie 420-6125. The firmware date is stored in the image file headers, but not the manufacture date. If the camera has received a firmware upgrade, it will be hard to correlate the SN to manufacture date. Mine had the older 1997 date in it until I downloade...

Okay, I bit. Went for an E3 with the faster optics. I figure it will be the wide-angle camera with a 28mm F2. I am very impressionable. But I AM NOT going to collect every varient, so you guys can blast away at EBay now(Thankyou Kiu for the cease-fire)! I will be writing my Raw convertors and taking...

I believe that the raw format for the color images are the same, so an interpolation routine would be required to build the 24-bit color "pixels". The .bmp format handles RGB easily. I'll read into what algorithms are used, I have cubic spline routines available. Tiff would allow storage o...

I am guessing that a lot fewer DCS200's were made, about 1/10th that of the DCS4xx series. They were more expensive and had a shorter production run than the DCS400. AND if you count the ration of DCS200's to DCS4xx's sold on EBAy in a month, it is probably 1:10. The DCS4xx was a much improved camer...

Reading Raw Formats: DCS200 as an axample.

As you know, Kodak does not provide software support for the DCS200 and the twain drivers are a bit old. You can transfer files to disk, but then must "change file" one at a time without a mass preview function. So I decided to write a ".kc2" to ".bmp" convertor TODAY. ...

Not sure about it being a Nikon I, but I am going after one just the same. I am a hopeless Nikon Fanatic, and the E3 has interesting optics. A few months ago I walked into a Nikon M unsync at a local antique store, priced as a Nikon S. I can live with that being as close to a Nikon I as I will get! ...

My guess is that there will be some odd special varients out there. Look at this Color Infrared DCS460: http://www.ulst.ac.uk/faculty/science/crg/camera.htm Kodak was open to the idea of special/limited runs of the CCD's. As I "recall" there were about 50 DCS200IR's produced. That was as p...

The DCS200 works with Future Domain SCSI adapters and Adaptec ASPI compatible drivers. I am using an Adaptec 2940 PCI card with mine. The TWAIN drivers is 16 bit. I am running WIN95b for mine. Adaptec SCSI cards for PCMCIA are ~$25 or so, I may pick up one and try it in my laptop. But you will be ba...
