Complete DCS 100- new sales record $5558

Post by drummond93 »

DCS 100, complete, sold on Ebay on 29 Jan 2012 for $5,558.98 USD
Seller location was Oregon, USA.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0881738847

In case others on this board weren't watching this auction- a complete Kodak DCS 100 w/ all original documentation, hard-sided travel case, with WORKING camera and DSU- seller actually took pictures with the DCS 100 and displayed them on the LCD screen on the DSU. The seller did an excellent job of describing and picturing this system- congratulations to him! :D

Keyboard: K370-3405
DSU: K370-2707
Power Supply: K370-4584
Camera Back: K370-0921
Camera Base: K370-1679

Comments-
Auction was notable for including all of the original documentation, including lens cleaning wipes in the pink anti-static bag, Kodak lens-cleaning solution, and warranty documents
Also included were the anti-static ESD wristband, manuals for the Nikon F3 HP, Chinon battery charger, etc.
This kit did not have the Fax-modem accessory- which isn't unusual, as I've only seen a couple of these kits with it.
The black bag that holds the DSU is a later version- the original bag that I have from a similar kit didn't have the Kodak label sewn on it (from an earlier set of serial numbers)

In a complete, as-new kit there would have been 1 additional DSU battery (which may be in the DSU, but there is space in the case for 3 batteries in the white cardboard sleeves)

Nice to see the value of these sets going up.

Without meaning to be picky; the set wasn't a DCS-DC3 (sometimes incorrectly refered to as the DCS-100).
It was a very rare DCS-DM3 monochrome version.
I've only ever seen one other DM3 and that was just the body & winder.

Good observation- I had not noticed that detail.... which might explain the increase in value.

DCS 100, complete, sold on Ebay on 29 Jan 2013 for $5,558.98 USD
I corrected the date for you.

That price is still not what a new one sold for!

Thanks, I hadn't gotten used to writing "2013" yet....

Possible a certified NASA used on-orbit DCS camera might fetch it's original price... not sure if any other one would, unless a 1-off prototype (like the Hawkeye) or other specialized sensor (IR maybe?)
