Now I've seen everything-a QV1000 (with it's zoom lens) on the Antiques Roadshow! Admittedly it was a glimpse in the background, but still...
It was part of a large collection of Nikon cameras which included an SP rangefinder with 5cm f/1.1 and winder, an S3 with 5cm f/1.1, numerous F's (with several drab olive examples,) a cutaway F4 with a zoom lens, F3 cutaway, an E series DSLR, another cutaway camera, an F3AF.
I don't know if you can pick up a repeat overseas on satellite or internet, but it was broadcast on 30th December 2007, and was about 3/4 through the hour long program-an 'antiques of the future' special. Unfortunately it didn't last very long and they didn't really focus on a particular camera. This was just part of the gentlemans collection and the 'expert' asked something like "would this lot be worth £150,000?" and the owner said "at least".
Hopefully somebody will Youtube it for me (I've no idea how & didn't record it)
Jonathan

QV1000 on the Antiques Roadshow!
Interesting. Sure it was a QV-1000C?
Checked the BBC website, but "The Antiques site has now closed". Any chance they'll air it again? I'd be interested to know the collector's name and try to get a serial number, some details about the camera's history, etc.
Thanks and happy new year!
Jarle

try this link
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/page/item/b008ppvg.shtml
and drag the time line thingy to 44min 20sec to go right to it.
I think it will only be available for the next few days so if anyone can rip the video better do it now.
Some screengrab highlights:
Spot the: QV1000C, bare alloy camera 'bodies'
Spot the: see-thru N90
Spot the: F3AF, E Series
Spot the: Wooden F, E Series

And a QV-1000C it is! Very cool. The lens is a standard 10-40mm f/1.4, one of two lenses that came with the kit.
There's also an E-series body on the table, behind a S4 rangefinder and a wooden SLR model. Looks like a nice collection (although I find the gold FA a bit cheesy - maybe the ultimate rap artist camera?)
You can't view BBC programs (sorry, programmes) outside the UK, but the excellent grabs you provided is good enough for me. Thanks!
One final thing: did they mention the owners name? You can send it directly to me if you don't want to mention it in the forum (shouldn't be a problem, though, if it's already been on TV..)
Thanks again.
