Just to confirm, I checked my Nikon E3s and yes, the serial number is 9100024. Not sure about the duplicate w/ the DS 565.

Also, while we're on the subject of Nikon vs Fujix, I'll revisit the issue of the Fujix DS-505a vs the Nikon E2s... on the examples I have, the Fujix DS-505A has a much slimmer/ shallower baseplate portion of the camera- almost a full 1/2 inch (or 12mm) shorter in height than the Nikon. Each camera has an entirely different casting for the bottom plate. Anybody have any idea why? I haven't taken them apart to see if there are any obvious differences... so anyone out that has, I'm interested!

Hi Nathan,
E2n=DS-505a
E2s=DS-515

Seems to me you are not comapring the right cameras...I think the E2ns has the same dimensions as your E2s and the E2n is the same size as my E2...

Here is the link to the thread that describes all variants:

Just picked up some cameras shipped to relatives in the USA. Only one new serial number, E2n 7200099, the others are already listed from their eBay listings.

Very odd that although I now have a number of E series, I have yet to get a Fuji DS labeled one; they all have Nikon labels.

Cheers,
Ross

Ross,
Make sure when you search for the Fuji version use "Fujix" in the search box.
