The original Nikon Still Video Camera prototype was made by Matsushita Electric (Panasonic).

This "new" historical information has been included in my updated SVC article: http://www.nikonweb.com/svc/

I've also added a rare photo of a Panasonic SVC prototype, shown to journalists at Photokina 1984, two years before the Nikon Still Video Camera.

Corrected year. The Panasonic prototype was displayed in 1984.
