Nikon D100 for $45

Post by NIKON KIU »

I have been trying to get my prosumer D series collection completed.
I have D40x, D50, D60, D70 and today I got D100
I am missing D80 and D90
Anyway, here is the D100 I bought for $45

Kinda like a shot in the dark, since it was untested. BUt I thought, only a pro would store it without a battery and covered by a body cap.

So, wish me luck, I will keep you all informed of what happens when I get the camera and test it.

You get what you pay for!

As the old adage goes, you get what you pay for!
Camera arrived yesterday, I installed a battery and a card and viola the camera powered up!
But that was the good news, the camera has full shutter and speed range and all top controls are working, you can even take pictures using all provided settings... but the rear LCD and the rear controls are not working! That's the bad news. No picture preview or menu controls, etc...

I guess it's good for a back-up or as a student camera.

Don't worry Kiu!
You may put the camera on your bedsite table or mantelpiece, but maybe someone has ever opened the body and has fotgotten to connect everything properly. So why not open the back (5 screws/ 2 on each side and one under the viewfinder) and see if all the connectors are OK? Check if the paint on the screws is gone. And be aware of the fact that the right srews are longer than the left ones.

I'll read it in the New York Times next week?

Success and regards,

Nico
