If you are interested what the Photokina had to offer, read this:
Nikon showed in a new and huge stand their new digi-SLR's and the new P7000. I am afraid this camera will not beat the Canon G11/12. I haven't seen images yet, but if they have the same 'quality' as the P6000, it is better to go for the Sony NEX 5 (NEX 3 is plastic, NEX 5 is metal). Interesting also for those that have a nice collection of older lenses. In the Sony stand there was a Novoflex boot showing adapters for Nikon AI/S, Nikon G, Contax G, Canon FD, Canon EOS, Leica LTM, Leica M, M42 and C-mount lenses. I don't think we will see a Nikon EVIL camera this year.
Canon showed an APS-H-CMOS sensor with 120 Mp.!! Fuji had the new FinePix Real 3D W3, a 3D camera with two 10 Mp.-sensors, two 35-105mm lenses for just 430 euro.
