Turning darkness into light (flash photography blog)

Post by NikonWeb »

I've always considered myself an available light shooter. I've used a bunch of strobes/flashes/speedlights over the years (Metz, Sunpaks, Nikons, etc.) but I've always tried to avoid flash as much as possible. However, being inspired by David Hobby's excellent strobist blog, I've finally decided I need to expand my lighting arsenal.

Fortunately, I have most of the expensive hardware already (several Nikon speedlight units, SU-800 commander, SC cables). I've just ordered a couple of light stands, a softbox and some other stuff. I'm also planning to get some snoots, strobe grids etc. from www.honeycombgrids.com.

Should be an interesting little winter project. Turning darkness into light.
