Hi Douglas,

As you may know, you don't need an original Fujifilm BP-5D battery. It may be easier to find a EN-1 (Nikon's version of the same battery). You can also use a later E3-series Ni-Mh battery, which can be charged using the original and esay to find Nikon D1 chargers MH-15 and MH-16.

In other words: If you can't find an original BP-5D/EN-1 battery, you can instead look for a Nikon EN-3 or Fujifilm BP-D56 (both E3 series batteries).

IMPORTANT: Even if the E2 and E3 series batteries are interchangable, the chargers are not. Physically, the batteries are identical, but the charger plug is different. In other words, you'll need to use the correct charger for whatever battery you get.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jarle

Thanks for the information have been looking to alternate options
But have had no luck sourcing a battery.
And without a bottom cover for the battery slot on the camera I can not get a modern battery to fit
I have the tethered battery adapter and charger but none of the loose batteries.
Would even be looking for a dead pack to rebuild.
E2 is just so funky, and would be a laugh to show up at ta shoot.
then pull that out of the bag instead of a more modern digital.

Hello,

if you have the thethered power adapter you can build an battery-pack by separating the cabels and solder an XLR-Plug in. Then you can take an battery pack from modell-Toys connected with an XLR-Plug or the original stationary power like you want. I`ve done this and it works.

greetings
Ulrich

Hi umrüd

Thanks I had been figuring as a last ditch, least liked, option to modify the remote clip
BUT would rather not butcher the thing.(trust me I mean butcher )
so for the next while I will be holding out for a good or dead clip to rebuild

cheers douglas

PS just got a Minolta RD-175 & lens set new in boxes

Hi,
I dug out my stash of Batteries, I have two EN-1s and a EN-3
I have to keep at least one battery per camera and since I have both the E2 and the E3, that leaves one spare EN-1
I had it refreshed and charged last night, it seems to be holding the charge today.
Do you have the quick Charger EH-1? I'm afraid you'll need it for this battery.
I'll take $30.00 shipping included from USA to Canada.
Or if you have a 10.5cm f4 hood may be we can work something out.

Kiu

There's an original Fujifilm AC-D5 NiCd charger (same as Nikon's EH-1) on eBay right now: item 320345154965 - BIN $24.99.

OMG,cost of shipping was $19.00 via USPS priority mail to Canada :x

I shipped couple of days ago. Now, if the battery reaches canada and is still holding charge, I don't think you need to re-cell it.
I checked it before I shipped and it was still working.

Cheers,

Kiu

Hi Kiu

Yes it is ain't it. OMG,cost of shipping was $19.00 via USPS priority mail to Canada :x
and
USPS still managed to post a $2 billion loss doing the job last year .

When I find the hood you want we can even it out at that time.

thanks again

cheers

Great.
I always keep these batteries stored with charge, be it in the camera or out, the cells seem to stay alive when they are charged. Leaving them discharged for a long time is the worst thing one can do to them, once they are left dead forawhile, the cells don't want to hold charge anymore.
Same thing Happened to me with a couple of old Ni-Cad camcorder batteries.
It's a pain in the back but every few months, I get that monster (by today's standards) battery charger out and check and recharge the batteries as needed. This practice has kept my stash of batteries alive for the last 5 years.
