Re: CANON RC-760 LISTED ON EBAY ...

That's the first time I've seen the lens mount - it looks the spitting image of a Micro Four Thirds camera. I wonder if the 11-66mm f/1.2 lens could be mounted on an Olympus E-P1? It wouldn't cover the sensor, but still, an f/1.2 zoom lens! You don't see many of those in the world of still photograp...

Kodak DCS 560 plays pong

I finally got around to achieving one of my life goals yesterday, by filming the Pong game in the DCS 560 (and 520 as well): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm2YIbd8QVo As you can see, I got an early lead, but let one through shortly afterwards and then the fight just drained out of me. Exactly like ...

Re: Kodak DCS ,NC charger substitute.

A few of the older posts at DPReview and one of the articles here mention recelling the old battery packs, because apparently they contain regular rechargeable AA batteries connected together with some electronics. This applies equally to the early DCS cameras (including the NC2000) and the later mo...

Re: Kodak nc2000e gallery on Flickr

(How the heck do you attach a photo in the post? All I see in a word: [img], with no way to browse for a photo) If you could assist that would be great! You've got to host it off-site - this isn't one of those forums where you can upload pictures. I use imageshack because that's where I put all my ...

Re: Missing DCS 560

Well blow me down. The postman delivered it back to me this morning. It seems to have gone to Germany and arrived at the destination, but Herr Postmann has scrawled NAME? on the packet and sent it back. To be fair, the buyer was an oriental gentleman, and I might have put the order of his name wrong...

Re: Kodak nc2000e gallery on Flickr

The ghostly faces in the window threw me for a moment. I notice that the full-sized shot still has the kind of graduated purple cast that I was getting with the DCS 420 - it's along the left edge of the image, particularly visible in the bottom-left - but it's not nearly as bad, and you could probab...

Re: Missing DCS 560

I understand your frustration. Some packages are lost, but usually they are not.. Have you contacted Royal Mail and/or DHL? Good luck! Jarle I have indeed - they gave me a Special Form to fill out, which I have done so and posted off. It's entirely possible that the form might become lost in the po...

Re: Missing DCS 560

It's this one, here: http://nolp.dhl.de/nextt-online-public/set_identcodes.do?lang=en&idc=CP676150885GB If I do a search with Deutsche Post's shipment tracking link it pops open the above. It seems to have arrived at the "departure sorting hub" (curiously, two hours before I posted it!...

Missing DCS 560

Now here's a thing. I recently eBay-ed my DCS 560 to a chap in Germany, who appears to be a thoroughly decent fellow. I packed it up, posted it by Royal Mail Global Value, and voop - yes, voop - it has vanished. DHL's German site lists it as being picked up for processing, but it seems to have gone ...

Re: Kodak nc2000e gallery on Flickr

It's very weird, but I also play with a Canon DCS 3 camera (Virtually the same as the nc2000e) The files look terrible in CS3, with crazy colors and yellow bands going across the frame. But when I open them with the older AP Viewer software (Early version of Photo Mechanic) they look absolutely fin...

Re: Numbers of DCS 660

By coincidence there's one on eBay in the UK, #360261898798. I've never seen one before. It has a "buy it now" price of £190 and is as usual sold untested without battery and charger.

Re: Unfortunate DCS 760 problem

Cor, perhaps Stan Disbrow is selling off his Kodak DCS gear. Those two cameras would probably still make a decent wedding / event combination nowadays, if you had big muscles. Put a 70-200mm on one and a 24-70mm on the other and you'd certainly look the part. You'd probably need a little trolley to ...

Re: Kodak nc2000e gallery on Flickr

However, I will say that I would not be comfortable having to rely on it for my assignments, due to it's age for one thing. But it's nice to tote it along on assignments to see what I can get out of it. Actually, a photo from it did run in the paper I work for today. Link to photo here: http://www....

Re: Unfortunate DCS 760 problem

Alas, I live in the UK. I left the camera unpowered overnight, and the first frame it took this afternoon was perfectly okay, but subsequent frames were black. It's vexing. Perhaps it will simply fix itself. I'm not really sure where to go from here. I sold the DCS 560 in order to fund the DCS 760 p...
