Re: Nikon D100 – „The little D1“ or „D1 light“ from 2002
The D100 was a revolutionary camera when it was first introduced. Great resolution at an affordable price (relatively speaking, of course). With its six megapixel (3008x2000) sensor, the D100 (later supplemented by the D70) was Nikon's highest resolution camera until the 12.4 megapixel flagship mode...

Re: Nikon Df
Hi Stan, I’ve never used the Df myself, but I have used two D4s professionally for the past 6-7 years (since it was first introduced). It’s a obviously a great camera in many ways (robust, fast, reliable, great low light capabilities) but for me it has just been a tool. Never really fell in love wit...

Re: Making a DSU from scratch for an orphan DCS100
Be sure to let us know once you are able to retrieve photos from the camera! Especially since I have never been able to get my DSU to communicate with a PC, I’d be thrilled to see a working third party solution!

Two DCS100s on eBay
There are currently two DCS100s listed on eBay. Camera back K370-0643 (Starting bid:US $1,999.95) and another one starting at $3,500. Haven’t paid attention in a while, but will be interesting to follow these two.

Here's a link that works, but you may need to rename the downloaded file to a .dmg extension (on my Mac it came with a superfluous apostrophe in the file name): http://dl2.opendrivers.com/dl_file.php?dl=dl2&brand=cameras-and-mp3-player%2Fkodak&file=Photo_Desk_V_4_3_0.dmg&check=fg2tbadbdh...

Re: DCS "100" camera/winder/back serial number?
The serial numbers are found on stickers on the various parts, as seen here (just below the viewfinder). Someone probably peeled them off, or they simply fell of, for some reason.

Re: Rare monochrome DCS760M on eBay
August 2015. Another 760M on eBay: Kodak DCS 760M Monochrome Digital Camera Only 215 Actuations It has been used very little but it has some dead pixels although we couldn't see them when we took a picture. We posted the picture here on the ad (see pictures). There is no memory card or lens included...

TIME: Celebrating 80 Years of Associated Press’ Wirephoto
Interesting read. And pretty cool with a link to NikonWeb.com from a major news source
Ironically, the George H.W. Bush inauguration photo in the article is NOT captured with the QV-1000C.

Re: FINALLY!! I got my E3s up and running.
Does anyone know what software will open the TIFF it makes?? Thanks in advance! :D I've opened the TIFF files in Nikon View and Capture in the past. Perhaps it's an OS problem you're seeing. Try to run the program under Windows XP, if possible, or try to change the compatibility settings for the pr...

Re: Minolta RD-3000 ?
I know nothing about this camera, but Minolta's timing was terrible. The camera was announced on Sept 22, 1999, a few months after the revolutionary Nikon D1. Not a big seller, I'm sure.

Interesting site by photographer and Nikon collector Timm Chapman, including rare information on several of the first digital space cameras, including the F4 Electronic Still Camera. "Aside from making fine art landscape and travel photographs, I also collect rare Nikon SLR cameras. The pride o...
