Re: I Shall Return

Hi, It is great to hear from you again! It worked out well. I did get the Df, which won't ever leave. She used the D80 for a while but wanted something smaller. So I got her a D3500. Since that came with lenses, the D80 and its kit lens went to our oldest granddaughter just in time for her firstborn...

Re: A am going to need a bigger Shelf

Hi, Yes. Yes you need a bigger shelf. :) All I have is a D1H, which I still use for stuff destined for online. I used to use an E2 for that. I still have one around somewhere but couldn't say just what box on my SOE (Shelves of Obsolete Electronics) it might be in. I will find it before long as it i...

Hi,

Nice! I wonder where the charger got to. Boxes and all, one would think the charger would be there as well.

Re: February 2021: Nikon QV-1000C for sale on eBay

Hi, Interesting. Looks like someone wants a new Fujifilm GFX 100s! ;) Serial 267 out of 180 made, so he thinks the production number of 180 is nonsense. But, it is usual for makers to begin with number 101. So, the 180 produced might still be correct. Edit: No, you show serials below 100 in your art...

Hi, Here are a couple pics of a Puffy Possum battery next to one without an issue: http://jdcrawlers.lcent.com:8000/johndeere/albums/userpics/10011/IMG_20200706_094209.jpg http://jdcrawlers.lcent.com:8000/johndeere/albums/userpics/10011/IMG_20200706_094220.jpg The Puffy Possum is still operating as ...

Re: Charging Kodak DCS 5xx, 6xx and 7xx Batteries

Hi, One thing to watch out for: LiIon batteries tend to puff up when they get old. Yet, they still continue to operate. In the cell phone, at least the BlackBerries I did R+D on, this condition led to the self popping off of the back cover before the things popped. In that camera, you won't be alert...

Re: Nikon E-series serial numbers

Hi, If anyone still cares, I just spotted another eBay unit. A DS-565 S/N 900012. This one in Japan 'for parts' and with a price tag of USD 8129 plus 750 shipping. (!) For that money, I will be buying a Fujifilm all right, just not a DS-565 Medium Format (as they list it). But another Fujifilm mediu...

Re: Charging Kodak DCS 5xx, 6xx and 7xx Batteries

Hi, NC2000 was originally NiCd, not NiMH. As were the later stick packs. Kodak didn't go NiMH until later on during the 5xx and 6xx series. And, then they had a charger change from the Flat to Angled Top unit. The Flat Top had a trickle charge for the NiCd rather than a full shut off. Trickle charge...

Re: Charging Kodak DCS 5xx, 6xx and 7xx Batteries

Hi, On, man! The Mind Boggles! :P It all boils down to how well the makers of the packs and chargers did their engineering. Li Ion chemistry needs a lot of handholding in both the charge and discharge direction. One has to watch the rates, both voltage and current. This needs to account for the curr...

Re: Opening DCS Battery Pack for Cell Replacement

Hi, They work as well as the original Kodak packs did. That is around 200 shots on the 760c per charge. Is OK. The most memory it can use is 2 GB. 225 shots. So, change card and battery at the same time. They are all Chinese made cells these days, no matter who you buy them from. I stick with NiMH. ...

Re: Xena filter image quality and colour rendition

Hi, Yes, after correction in PD, the Xena images look quite close to their RGB CFA counterparts. The 2 MP ones. The images from the D1H are quite a bit smoother and cleaner than the 520c ones. This probably because the Sony sensor in the D1H is a 10 MP CCD where they ganged four photosites under eac...

Re: Opening DCS Battery Pack for Cell Replacement

Hi, I want to let you know that I missed this post completely. I would have had a look at one of my packs to see how it might be done. Yes, things are usually ultrasonically welded. I use a fat metal handle X-acto knife and a very small ball peen hammer to crack packs open. ;) Not that I have needed...
