Re: Kodak DCS200 IR on eBay

Am I correct in assuming that the Kodak software does the file functions and not the OS? I've never used the DCS 200 myself, but I think that's correct. Some clues from the DCS 200 manual, chapter 3-34: "..once attached to the DCS 200 Camera, the hard disk no longer functions as a general-purp...

Re: Kodak DCS200 IR on eBay

Not sure if I understand your description (sounds like expected behaviour to me?), but for future reference or discussion, I've taken the liberty to paste it here: "This is for an almost nonexistant Kodak DCS 200 Digital Camera, the infrared model. This is sold with a Nikon body cap and the han...

Re: Kodak DCS updated article, Q&A

This is a wonderful and valuable resource. Thank you Jarle. Thanks! Glad you like it. I've just updated the article with a new discovery: The name DCS 100 was probably first used in an article published in the New York Times on August 2, 1992, shortly before the announcement of the next generation ...

Kodak DCS updated article, Q&A

Updated the DCS article with some real text, more photos, new info and an interesting Q&A with Kodak's lead DCS engineer James McGarvey. Enjoy!

Another QV-1000C kit discovered!

Another rare QV-1000C kit is now owned by the Dutch photo dealer Foto Henny Hoogeveen. The kit was bought from a former Nikon manager in the Netherlands. It's not for sale and will be displayed as part of a Nikon collection in the store. This makes it one of only 13 or 14 known QV-1000C cameras in t...

Re: DCS-100 listed on eBay 3-24-13 ...

Camera, back and winder only (ok - that's the most important pieces, but still. No DSU or other accessories). I expect the starting price (US $1,999.95) to be too high. We'll see.

Useful iPad tools

With an increasing number of high quality apps, the iPad has become a serious photographic tool, even for professionals. Re: NikonWeb: Free, portable IPTC preset editor (D4 users)

Thanks Gilbert,

Shouldn't be too difficult to implement, but I'm not convinced many people will actually use it. Still, I'll keep it in mind for a (possible) future version..

New mirrorless Canon EOS M camera system

Looks interesting, with a large APS-C sensor, but no viewfinder!?? Very disappointing and definitely a deal breaker for me (not that I need another camera..).
