USB SCSI adapter?

Post by NikonWeb »

Has anyone tried using a USB SCSI adapter with their DCS camera?

A Google search for USB SCSI adapter will produce several hits for such adapters, but I'm not convinced they'll work with an old DCS 200, for example.

Thanks,
Jarle

The DCS200 works with Future Domain SCSI adapters and Adaptec ASPI compatible drivers. I am using an Adaptec 2940 PCI card with mine. The TWAIN drivers is 16 bit. I am running WIN95b for mine. Adaptec SCSI cards for PCMCIA are ~$25 or so, I may pick up one and try it in my laptop. But you will be back to using the old TWAIN drivers.

The DCS4xx series has much more support for newer operating systems than the DCS200. It also has 12-bit per pixel resolution rather than the 8-bits of the DCS200 and DCS100. I suspect that you will be booting up win98 or older to use a DCS200.
