DCS-460 TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE...

Post by bleos »

hi all. i purchased a DCS-460 recently. the camera looks terrific and operates just fine except it does not recognize when a drive or card is inserted. i have tried a variety of drives and cards.

am i missing any obvious troubleshooting tricks? does anyone have a quick fix to suggest? how difficult would it be for someone technically challenged to repair or replace the faulty component?

thank you in advance for all advice and assistance.

Hi-welcome to the club

Does the little LCD on the rear show an error number? (eg. E2)

The earlier Kodak SLRs are a bit fussy, for instance none of mine will work with a CF card in a PCMCIA adapter, though are just fine with a PCMCIA flash card or HDD

hi jonathan,

thanks for responding to my query. in general i have had good luck using a pcmcia adapter and cf card. this particular camera would not work with that setup or a hard disc drive.

strangely enough i tried the camera again tonight and it works like a champ. go figure.

thanks again.
