Nikon D100 – „The little D1“ or „D1 light“ from 2002

Post by NikonD1X »

Nikon presented its first 2.7 MP Pro-DSLR D1 in 1999. 2001 came the successors D1H (2.7 MP) and D1X (6 MP). Photographers who couldn’t afford a D1 had to wait until 2002. The year Nikon presented its 6 MP semi-pro Nikon D100, sometimes called „Little D1" or "D1 Light".

Is the D100 collectable? I decided yes!

I have appreciated the Nikon D100 together with the D70 in a common report: https://www.digicammuseum.de/geschichte ... -d70-d100/

The other day I had the idea that it is no way storing the „D1 Light“ heedless in a box. Now it was time:

Out of the Box

And again I had a lot of fun with my D100 i a very special Swedish forest ;-)
Please enjoy my report: https://www.digicammuseum.de/geschichte ... r-d100-ii/

The D100 was a revolutionary camera when it was first introduced. Great resolution at an affordable price (relatively speaking, of course). With its six megapixel (3008x2000) sensor, the D100 (later supplemented by the D70) was Nikon's highest resolution camera until the 12.4 megapixel flagship model D2X was announced in September 2004.

Hej Jarle

You are right! I still use my D100 from time to time. I do even prefer it instead of my D70. The D100 has found acceptance to my "Kanon of favourite digital cameras"
